Default Injectors

My mechanic (that I trust) mentioned to me that he was surprised that I haven't had to replace my injectors. My 2000 Excursion has 140K on it. He also said that replacing them could cost thousands. Any history or advice?

Sorry, but it appears your mechanic isn't up-to-date on fuel injectors. First, they aren't as big a problem as he says. As you can see by the mileage on your vehicle, they rarely fail. Second, they are many reputable rebuilding services out there and their products are actually better than OEM.

Default At ease now

Thank you for your quick reply. I had thoughts of selling or trading but I'll hang on now. This is my work truck and comes in very handy moving equipment. I'll pass on this to my mechanic. He'll be thankful for the link.

From just the driver's switch or from any switch? From remote? All door locks? A little more information will help.

But, you can start by checking the black ground wire that goes from the relay box behind the center of the dash to the ground point behind it.

Thanks. Also in this forum there are a few people with this issue. Could be Door Lock Actuator from what I've read. 2000 Ford Excursion 4x4 - Door Lock Actuator Installation

The link has a fix and diagrams. Killer. I'm happy I'll be holding onto my 2000 Excursion. Hope to one day go bio with it.
