Ford Exp The EXP's body rode on the Escort's 94.2 inch wheelbase, with that car's front-wheel drive running gear, four-wheel independent suspension, and dashboard. The EXP was longer, lower, and sportier than the Escort. Performance wasn't the cars strong suit. The EXP weighed about 200 pounds more than Escort but carried the same 1.6 L CVH I4 engine rated at 70 hp.

Default 99 expedition. need help.

I just took my 99 expedition to the dealer becuz my truck started shaking. I paid for the it to be put on the computer. They told me that the #7 and #4 coil needed to be replaced and i needed a tune up. They also said i had a evap leak. Well, i changed the two coils and the spark plugs. I still shakes. They told me they couldn't check where the leak was at until i fixed the 2 coils and plugs. I did the work myself to save money but still no luck. Would a evap leak cause the truck to shake. Can some one tell me how to locate the leak? I need help. Thanks.

Not likely.

When you say "shake", I assume you mean the engine is running rough.

First disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes. Re-connect. Is it still rough and does the Check Engine Light come on ? If yes, most large auto parts stores will pull the Diagnostic Trouble Codes for free.

Get the exact codes and report back here.

The likely places for evap leak are the hoses leading in and out of the carbon canister, the evap valve, or the hoses leading in and out of the evap valve. Sorry, I can not be more specific on where these are located, except somewhere under the hood.

Ok, riddle me this joker. The shake is gone. It stopped shaking this morning. I took it to auto zone. They told me it was coil #5. I took it to another mechanic and he had a hand help computer and he said it was either my ecm module or it might be the fact that i didn't use motorcraft coils when i replaced the other two. Also, i used bosch spark plugs. He told me to replace them with motorcraft coils and plugs. I had him turn off the engine light and it hasnt come back on. BTW, my gas cap was stolen so i think that was my evap leak. Should i replace those two coils with motorcraft or just go with the flow? Remember the shake is gone now. I think the code was 3055. I think. I was so tired i just tightened the plugs on. Im reading alot about plugs flying out. Should i go back and torque the plugs the right way?
