Ford Exp The EXP's body rode on the Escort's 94.2 inch wheelbase, with that car's front-wheel drive running gear, four-wheel independent suspension, and dashboard. The EXP was longer, lower, and sportier than the Escort. Performance wasn't the cars strong suit. The EXP weighed about 200 pounds more than Escort but carried the same 1.6 L CVH I4 engine rated at 70 hp.

The Exp was awesome. I had an '83. Great on gas an had decent power. After buying it I found out that there was a Exp turbo. Made me madder than a wet hornet. I wanted that instead. The turbo should have been carried only on the Exp/LN7 through to '88. It produced about 110 to 120HP I think(not intercooled). The early years the LN7 had the Bubble back glass that was sharp. But I liked the Exp front better. You guy's are my envy. Wish I had mine. 18 wheeler took mine out in '86. Escort SS was another rare one. Almost bought it instead of the Exp. The SS was a Chevy trademark and Ford had to hurry and get it out of their markets. Ya'll have good day.

Thanks for asking, but I never sell any of my vehicles.

You might check over at Ford EXP & Mercury LN7 Owners Club. It's a great group over there and they have a Classified section as well.

You might even make a new thread letting them know that you are interested in purchasing an EXP (or LN7). They'll keep an eye out for you and let you know if one comes up.

There is one sitting at my local auto wreckers, the body looks pretty good from first looks. I was thining it would rock with a turbo setup or maybe a RWD conversion? Frankenstein is getting restless here..... Buah ha ha ha ha!!!!

I used to have one of those! I loved the thing.
Yours is in beautiful shape. Ever consider engine mods? If you notch the frame by the front engine mount on the pulley side you can drop in a 2.3 liter engine (one from a tempo will do the trick) Should bolt right up to the tranny. Use the fly wheel from the 1600 if you want a snappy motor that idles like it has a cam!
You should be able to beat fox chassis Mustangs with that setup. Mine Did! Just be careful with tranny mounts and CV's It may or may not eat them!
