HELP! Water Getting Into My 2000 Expedition When It Rains Hi All,
I am a new member. I just purchased my truck less than 2 months ago. I am attaching a string of emails explaining the problem I am having. I hope that someone in the Ford community can tell me what is going on -- so that I can fix the problem. It's going to rain again for the next 4 days starting tomorrow.
Thanks to all.

When it rains, water piles up on the mat in the floor of the driver and passenger side. It also appears to get into the console/cup holder area. You have to know about this. Please tell me exactly what the problem is so that I can get it repaired. I thought it seemed unsual to have commercial type floor mats but I understand why. Where is the water coming from?
Also, the panel light behind the odometer continues to go off and on. Please let me know what the repairable problems/temperament are with this vehicle. I'd appreciate it. Response I received 4/08
The odometer is an item I disclosed at the time of sale, The leak is new.
I never had a problem with water and I'm not sure how it would even get in the cup holder. Are you sure the sun roof is completely closed? Odometer needs a new module behind the dash. Email I sent 4/08
As far as I can tell, the sunroof is completely closed. I'm not doing anything different. For example, there was enough water to half-fill a bucket/wade in on the driver side floor. I had to pour it out over the side and it has happened before just not to this extent. That says to me that depending on how hard it rains, this can become a big headache especially since I do not have covered parking.
I noticed that my change, cassettes, etc. that were placed in the console area were damp and the bottom of the tray has water in it-- but again the most water -- is on the driver side floor. When I drove to work (which takes an hour or so) today, if the sunroof were the problem, the water should continue to drip/fall from somewhere since it was raining, and it wasn't happening.
There must be something else.
Thanks for refreshing my memory on the odometer however there must be something more on the water issue. I can't take it in without giving the dealer some direction to go in.
Thanks. Response I Received
don't know but I never had any type of water problem and for that much water you have a serious leak. On the floor would indicate that it might be leaking through the firewall (pannel between the engine and where you sit. Are you parking on a hill? Try the ford truck message board. lots of knowledgeable people there that know more then I do
