Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default 99 Expedition 1407 Egr Valve Code?

I have been having a problem the last few months. First it coded 1407 EGR valve, changed that and the fuel filter and another part of the EGR because they gave me wrong part.. Then did the same thing and it coded 1407 again. I took it to more expensive shop and found out that the #5 coil was bad, replaced that. A month later same thing #3 had to be replaced. Now about 1 month later it started vibrating at around 35 and could feel engine pick back up, which felt just like when coil packs went bad before. Coding at 1407 again. This time though it would stall out on me when the RPM's dropped lower then 1000. I could start it back up no problem, just had to keep foot on gas while braking. I am reluctant to change this part again. Has anyone had similar problems? Can you thing of anything else it could be, or do you suggest I just change all the coil packs and go from there?

Even though u replaced the EGR valve, the passages may be carboned up. Did u check them, maybe us a coat hanger or a piece of wire?

yes, we tried that and we even looked at the 2nd EGR valve after we replaced it and it looked brand new still. The first one we replace looked new also, no corrosion or build-up.

i just had some one on another forum tell me that they had the exact same thing happen and they ended up taking off the throttle body and sure enought it had tremendous buildup. said it was further than the ports, places you couldnt see nor thing of since the ports were so clean and so was the egr valve itself. He said after that the truck ran as good as the first day he bought it.

I have the same code and i was just about to spend some $$ on buying a new one. I will take my TB off and clean it, along with the idle control valve. I will let you know if it fixes it.
