|  Ford 100,000 extra warrenty ?
Morning all,
About to go get my new '08 Limited 4x4 EL and the dealer offered the warrenty for $1860. Is it worth it?
Any opinions on this?

Is it a 5 or 6 year term? And what is the deductible?

Should have said, sorry.
60 months.
Isn't the deductable to do with the GAP thing he tried to sell us.
We are getting that from our bank whos doing the financeing.
Gap was like around $600 and the bank was only $175 for the same thing. | |

Not sure.
Dealer called it GAP. Comes from Ford.
Basically for $10s a month it would pay of the difference in the loan amt you owed if the truck got totalled, minus your insurance deductable. | |

Oh okay, that helps refresh my memory. However, the deductible for the ext'd warranty will be a separate thing. It will be paid "out of pocket" by you each time the SUV is brought in for an extend warranty repair.
In short, if indeed that is a FORD extend warranty (called an ESP), and if the deductible isn't over $100-200.00, I would purchase it IF you plan on keeping this SUV for more than 4 years. I hope this helps. But I do STRESS, only buy a Ford ESP extended warranty!!

I second that,less headaches with a factory warranty.One major covered repair and the warranty pretty much pays for itself. | |

Well thanks for the comments.
We picked it up on Friday.
Ended up getting the Ford service aggreement for around $1100.
And the GAP for $189 instead of $600 they first said.
Our bank was offering us the same kind of insurance for $175 so they changed their mind on that $600s.
Ended up going with the dealer for the loan as they got us 4.9%
Truck ended up costing us $35K on the nose. After trade and rebates etc.
Think the deal was pretty good. Only gave us half a thank of gas though. thought that was a bit cheap. | |
