Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default Ford Expedition Reliability - better info

I wanted more up-to-date car reliability information that included actual repair rates. So in late 2005 I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, so we can provide stats quickly for new models then track cars closely as they age.

So far 245 Expedition owners have signed up to participate. A good start, but many more are needed to fully cover all model years..

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, panel members receive full access to the results for all cars, not just the Expedition, for free.

We've posted a result for one model year, the 2003. With a repair frequency of 83 successful repair trips per year per 100 vehicles, it's about average.

This is based on a very small sample size. With more participants we could provide precise results and cover all model years.

A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February.

Updated results again later this month. Additional participants remain needed for all model years.
