Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

I get about 11 around town and 13-14 highway with mine. these rigs are just gas hogs. I love mine right now however. we have over a foot of snow and it plows through it just fine.

How is your fuel quality ? Do you really have 87 octane ?

In town, that might be all you are going to get with that 'big boy' !

Hi,

I was an automotive engineer at GM back in the 80s I helped to develop the Northstar and the Manhattan (Fiero replacement, beat teh Vet and was killed). Not really sure about the Congo but I know that it is hot and dusty. Tires and air filter are really key same as driving habit. It you are at an elevated altitude you may have to advance the timing to handle the air. Same as if you are in CO. We found that you had to advance the timing for high altitude to get rid of knock and get some guts into her. She can be starved for air. If you are at sea level then ignore this and you may want to check the octane rating. Does she knock under load? Are you carrying etra weight like grill protectors etc? If you are using aggressive off the road tires this could affect what you see too.
