Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default I need to take a leak

I just picked up a 97 EB/4x4 4.6 151,000 miles the truck is in pretty good shape but the transmission leaks oil the moment it pumps threw transmission directly at front seal , my question what would cause front seal to blow,no seal is ment to last forever but i dont want to pay to change seal just to find out 4 months from now i need to replace it again, are these transmissions hard to remove myself and take to a shop or do u need a shop an have it rebuilt

Seals just eventually wear out just like everything else does. I would say the next one should at least last another 151,000 miles like the first one did.

I would say with 151,000 miles and if it is leaking bad you might just want to get it rebuilt, it all depends on how good it shifts and how much spare money you have.

Removing the transmission all depends on YOUR skills, I know I could do it but I have several friends that would kill themselves attempting to remove it.
