Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default rough ride on downshift

So heres the story:

I have a 2000 expo with the 5.4. on the freeway around 60 or 70 mph if you press throttle slightly it started shuddering very badly and did not stop unless you hit the passing gear or returned to strictly cruising.

I read a few posts on here and it led me to the rear differential. i took it in to get the fluid changed (normally i woudl attempt myself but i needed it back on the road asap) and they mentioned that the rear dif was almost empty. they filled it up and back on the road i went. tested it out at high speeds and everything went perfectly.

Now everything seems fine at higher speeds and now when im cruising around town from 40 to 50 mph if i try to make it downshift accelerate it starts doing it again... any ideas? i read a lot about the coils and plugs doing this but i really feel its probably something around the dif... im a bit lost.
