Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default Thinking of buying an Expedition

Hi there. I am thinking of buying a '02 or '03 Expedition and would like to hear what owner's have to say about their Expedition.

Any advice?

Thank you in advance.

Jess, look NO further. I am an owner of an 04 Eddie Bauer Expedition & wouldn't trade it for any other vehicle out there. I purchased this one used, it was being used before I bought it as a business vehicle. It rides smooth, VERY driver friendly, very passenger friendly. TONS of space, nice looking, good engine. I only have a V6 in mine, I don't know that I would want a V8. This thing has PICK UP, it will take you anywhere you want to go! On a scale of one to ten, I would rate it an 12. I will include a picture of mine at the end of this post. Another plus for is, I tall, & am built bigger(not fat, just broad) all my life I have always felt like an outcast for being bigger. When I sit in the Expedition, I can feel small for a little while. Like something is actually bigger than me. I won't steer you wrong, an Expedition is the way to go!

Unhappy 2006 King Ranch Expedition

I recently purchased a 2006 King Ranch Expedition and I loved it. The leather is awesome. However be sure to purchase an extended warranty. I am so glad that I did. They recently put in the second engine in this thing at 20000 miles. Now the dealer recomended getting rid of it and getting the new 2007 King Ranch in the new EL model. I hope this one does better. I think I just got a lemon by mistake. Other wise this is an awesome rig. It pulls the boat like it was nothing at 6000lbs and rides like a dream. Had a rattle problem in one door but the dealer took care of that right away. Just as the dealer said to me, when you spend 53000.00 on a new vehicle it shouldn't have this maney problems so he said lets get you a new one. So we will see....

Let's Hope...

Just bought a 2006 after trading in 2003. Looked at other SUVs before confirming what I already knew. Built FORD tough is not just a slogan, its a promise.

My bad. ok, lets try this again....... Ok, yes, jap cars are more reliable than american cars, but when it comes to trucks and SUV's japan really cant compete. Excption being the tundra. Also, japan has never produced anything as big as the expedition..... And the 4.6 or 5.4 is an increadable motor.
