Ford ExpeditionTrue expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.
Seeing as one of its primary uses is as a tow vehicle, does ot already have a factory Trailer Towing Option ? This would include an auxiliary transmission cooler and trailer wiring and probably a different rear axle ration.

I have an 03 EB Expedition, and it's been a great vehicle. It's got 120,000 miles on it and the only thing I"ve really had to do to it was a tune up and a set of tires. I think most, if not all, EBs from 2003 & up come with a standard towing package... but I could be wrong.
Sorry for the long wait on a reply. I was out of commission due to surgery that didn't go so well and had to stay with some friends until I could move around on my own.
I ended up buying a 2004 XLT for a really good price.
Now my question is, What is the part number to add the 7 blade plug? It has the 4 prong trailer plug now. I have tried Hoppy and Reese and neither one lists a harness for an 04. I tried a search on here and found a bunch of threads discussing this, but no one lists any part numbers or information on where to get the 7 blade plug.
Am I safe to assume that I can go to the dealer and purchase the 7 blade and just plug it in the factory harness???
Now my question is, What is the part number to add the 7 blade plug?
I assume you are referring to a 7 blade trailer connector.
Sorry, there is much more to it than simply swapping connectors. You will have to add wiring and relays from the fuse box to under the dash (where you will mount the brake controller) all the way to the rear.
I suggest you find a shop that specialize in trailer hitches and wiring. With a brake controller, expect to pay over $300 !

Scrap the jeep and use the expedition off road. :-) It can beat the jeep at just about everything except rock crawling. I love mine in the mud. Just keep your momentum higher than your used to with the jeep. Or if you really want to have some outrageous fun get a 79 bronco, lift it to the sky and never look back.
I don't really care about the price to get one installed. I got the truck for too good of a price to complain about spending a few hundred on the trailer harness.
What would I need to run for wires? I assume the battery wire to the rear for 12V supply and one to the inside for the brake controller. Are the wires pre-run from the factory to the back for the brake controller, or do I have to replace the whole trailer harness to get the 7 blade hook-up?
