Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default 99 Expedition electrical whoopsies

I am just wondering if anyone else out there has had these same problem or problems.

1. turning on the wipers and there is a delay at any setting. they come on after a delay and turn off about 2 or 3 seconds after it is turned off. last time i checked the signal was not being sent via satellite and back to my suv which would explain the delay.

2. the drivers side power seat just stopped. i am wondering if it is as simple as a fuse and if so where is it. if not any other suggestions as to what it could be?

so far i have only found those 2 electrical whoopsies. i have not taken it in for the recalled item, but as i remember that has to do with the cruise control. any thoughts that it is all connected in some way?

i found this site and am going to try out some of the things that i read about on how to fix the door ajar/lights on problem. thanks if it works.

thanks to anyone who can help me figure out these things. any suggestions for someone who just bought this 99 expediton hybrid with 87,000 miles. i love gas prices rising.

That recall will not fix these problems. Sorry.

I would try using a new wiper relay (located underhood). I bet urs is on its way out...

The seat I have no ideal. Try checking ur owners manual for the fuse locations and breakdowns. If u don't have a manual, get one. eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices or www.helminc.com

As for your seat, we have had some problems with our '98. Although ours isn't dead completely, which sounds like a fuse problem. Ours is intermittently stopping. Just playing with the switch a little bit gets it working. My take is it is oxidized contacts in the switch. After all it is in a location that is ripe for weather related abuse. Hasn't been a big enough hassle to replace yet though.
