Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default Motorized Seat Not Working

Hi all, first i got to say that this is a very helpful forum and it has helped me a lot already. I am a new Ford owner, just purchased a 2001 Expedition. It has not been such a great experience so far. Anyways, among other problems, the motorize driver's seat would not move forward and backward. However, when I push the nob, you can hear the noise that it is trying to do something. I've checked the tracks, and nothing seem to be obstructing it. Is it a bad motor? Thanks.

Check the connectors at the switch and motor. Corrosion may be causing a low voltage situation. If the voltages check out good the motor may be bad. I would check the junk yards for a replacement. You can test the motor by figuring out the pinouts at the motor and applying voltage manually with a spare battery to see if you can get it to run properly.

Thanks for the input. Ultimately, I had to replace the motor because it was dead. Luckily, I was able to get the motors, along with the entire seat, from a junk yard for $50 and replaced the motors and the brace track. With the proper tools, took about 30 minutes. Thanks for your input though.
