Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Unhappy Starting and stalling

Hi all,
I am a Newbie on this forum, I have an interesting problem with my 99 Expedition, It will start and run for a few seconds then it stalls, It repeats a number of times. If I hold the Brake and the gas together and proceed to drive it for a a few minutes then it runs normally. It happens once every few weeks. I have replaced the fuel filter, PCV valve, and the air cleaner. I have not replaced the spark plugs though it has 85K miles on it. Anyone had this problem?
Thanks for your help.

I have had a similar problem. I own a 2000 and as I am driving I have noticed that the RPM gauge jumps up and down and then it gets a jerky motion to it and then I noticed the theft light come on and then the entire engine shuts off. I honestly dont know where to begin. I have heard that there might be a problem with the coil packs, or the computer, fuel pressure, or fuel filter. I was just on my way to a hobby shop to get a diagnostic done on it but now I cant even get it to start. If you can figure it out let me know. email me at kenneth.ruch@navy.mil

Wink Starting and immediately stalling

Bad Idle Air Control Valve ....common on this truck....gets clogged with soot.

I have the same issue with a 99 5.4 and it is giving a code of 320. We have changed both the crank sensor and cam sensor and was curious where to go next?

I also bet it is the IAC valve (Idle Air Control Valve). However, I would replace the plugs & wires with Motorcraft parts, and invest in some Sea Foam brand Fuel Treatment @ every oil change- it is CHEEP stuff too!!!
