Brake Caliper size of hex tool

I have a 2006 expedition and I have to change front disk pads. For some reason I can notget the right size hex for it. I went as far as park outside of car parts store and tried all sizes none worked. I look at a new part and it was 8mm but mine simes like a lot bigger. 10mm too small 11mm will not fit.
