Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Exclamation 2003 Eddie Bauer - HELP

Hi All,

I’m new to this forum. I bought my fist expy this past Friday, a 2003 Eddie Bauer with 91K miles 4.6L. It has the following issues:
1. The A/C cools perfectly; the problem is that it stops blowing air to the passenger and driver side while the blower keeps running. When it stops blowing air to the front passengers side the air is being blown to the windshield. Like if I pressed the fog/defrosts button on the A/C control panel. It does this when I accelerate! Any suggestions?

2. The cruise control switch on the steering wheel doesn’t not respond when pressed. Is there a relay or switch that can be checked?

3. The rear passenger power window on the driver side does not work. It is stuck on the up position (closed). I assume it needs a new motor? Or is there a relay as well?

Besides that I love this truck….It’s awesome!!!!

The cruise control maybe disabled. There was a recall for a safety switch attached to the master brake cylinder. Dealers were told to disconnect this until parts were available.

for #1, you have a vacuum leak, probably a hose somewhere.
as for #3, have to check my manual.

May or may not have vacuum leak. Might be thew vacuum check valve by the battery. Under load no vacuum hence the defrost setting.

'Cougar68' offered the 1st & cheepest check on your A/C vent concern.

Pop the hood and look & see if the cruise switch is unplugged. It screws into the end of the brake mastercylinder. Get back to us.

I'd get out the owners manual (or buy yourself a replacement) and go over all the fuses too.

And if the cruise control deactivation switch is wet from brake fluid seeping through it, please take it to a ford dealer to hopefuly get it fixed under warranty if you can , dont just reconnect it. I have repaired quite a few that have caught fire or at the least just had some heat damage. Just be careful.

Exclamation A/C Passenger Vents

Thank you for all the replies.

What I noticed with the A/C is the passenger vents do not blow any air. Even when the button is pressed and the light is green. All the other buttons and settings to work fine, the feet/leg vents and defog vents works fine, any ideas?
