Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Post How to repair a broken exhaust pipe stud at the Manifold

Here is a fix for your broken stud at the manifold. The Hush studfix™ is a simple clamping apparatus that reattaches the exhaust pipe and flange to the exhaust manifold. This device allows for an easy and relative inexpensive fix for most Ford cars and light trucks. This product eliminates the need to remove the exhaust manifold to replace defective studs. Their website shows how to install it with pictures. This allowed me to repair the problem in less than a hour. By far, this is the best and easiest fix I have come across for repairng this same problem. This part only cost 23.95 which includes two stud fixes. You can check it out at this site below. Let me know how it works out for you.

I have replaced broken studs on my 1981 Delorean. I had a few broke off in the head flush.

What to do is smack the studs with a hammer and soak them with some PB Blaster or Gibbs penetrating oil. Repeat this for 3 or 4 days.

After the soak and beating on with a hammer break them loose.

If any break flush to the head hit the middle of the studs with a center punch and drill into them with a left handed drill bit. a left handed drill bit works in the reverse speed so as you are drilling in you may back out the studs. Left handed drill bits are hard to find, got mine off the Internet.

I got a set of lefty bits for work from a local hardware supply dealer. When I picked them, the guy said, "just so you know, you have to run the drill backwards to use these."
Apparently they get lots of calls from people saying that they don't work.

That is some contraption in that picture, though my broken studs are at the head, not at the collector. I have to ask, if you are going to all that trouble to put that in, why not just put in a new stud and two nuts?

If you have a cutting torch to remove what is left of the studs it only takes a few minutes to install the studfix. To remove the old studs and install new ones takes hours, if your lucky.
Most times you will end up having to remove the maniifold from the head. Good luck with the studs that hold the manifold to the head.
