Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

One should also bear in mind that the truck only has 26K on the clock. The power train is covered for 60 months / 60K miles. Bumper to bumper expires at 36 / 36K.

As mentioned previously, have a talk with your service writer and or the person who does the most of the work on the Expy's and try to determine the what needs to be repaired most often and go from there.

This is basically an insurance plan with a deductable. If you buy into it, your gambling that the truck will experience a catastophic failure with in the covered timeline. If you don't make the purchase, your gambling just the opposite. I personally wouldn't spend the money, it's a cash cow for Ford to cover a very reliable vehicle.

Great advice everyone.. I very much appreciate it. I think I am settled on the Ford ESP... with all of your input and support. Now I am still shopping it around.. I know I said it was $1250 for Premium Care.. but that was for a 5 year/100,000 warranty.. I am looking at getting the 7 year/100,000 at a price of $1,340 now. Anyone know of a better deal or good place online to get this cheaper? Thanks again for all of your help!

If you are comparison shopping give this place a try. It's the one I decided on after all the research.
cPanelŽ

I avoid dealerships as much as possible. Overpriced & rude has been my experience.

Well we finally pulled the trigger on the extended warranty, did a little bit of research (mostly price shopping online and called the local dealer). We decided for cost savings to go for one online as prices were due to increase on 11/1 (I will validate that when that date comes).

We ended up going with the one at: Ford Extended Warranty - Buy Ford ESP Extended Warranty

We looked Anderson & Koch Ford at the BBB and they got an "A" rating which was the best we saw amongst the places we researched which was good as this was also the cheapest place we found.

We selected the $100 deductible for a 7 year duration/100,000 mile duration. Total cost was $1340. Which I didnt think was too bad. The local dealer was quoting me $2600 for the same thing as I had him walk through this website. We also felt better that we were buying it from a Dealership and not just an online warranty sales place authorized to sell Ford ESP's.

Time will tell if we made the right decision. I know there is a lot of debate on these warranty's. But let me tell you we had one for our Chevy Tahoe and we used the heck out of that. It paid for itself time and time again. This vehicle has many more options which translates into much more to break.

Thanks again for your help on this...
