Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default 2002 Expedition ticking

Hi, I just bought a used 2002 Expedition well close to a year ago. We change the oil at Lube Express every 3000 miles, we just had it done and then went on a road trip and put on an extra 1800 miles, now the engine is ticking when it is in idle. What would cause this and how could I fix it. Also I heard that when in idle it the rev counter should be sitting on a grand, and it is in between half and one, is this the timing? It also has 110k on the clock would now be a good time for a tune up if so what kind. Sorry for all the questions but I'm really clueless when it comes to cars. Also the accelerator peddle sticks when i first use it and need to push it down hard but after that it works normaly, is this something that can be fixed with a can WD40?

Engine noise ar almost impossible to diagnosis by remote. Could be lifetrs or it could be just low on oil.

If you don't know the maintenance history I would say it is time for a cooling system flush and a full tune up. Plugs, wires, air filter, PCV valve, hose and grommet and don;t forget the fuel filter.

NO !

Any oil could make it worse. Find out what is really wrong. If the cable is really sticking, replace it ! You don't want it to stick returning to idle !!
