Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default Suspension question...

I have TT'd the front end and I am planning on adding a 2" spacer kit to the rear coils on my 97 expy, and was curious if I needed to get a longer shock than OEM spec. I am planning on buying new shocks within a few days anyway, and just wanted to make sure before I made the purchase.

Thanks!

good question....i would hold the shock in my hands and expand it couple inches to see. logically....one WOULD go with a shock slightly longer...but which, thats a hands on thing to figure out.

Absolutely, get a set 2" longer. If the shock was too short it would pull the shock apart...especially when you go are jumping ricers

It means "torsion twist". The front suspension on the Expy's are on torsion bars, which are basically long metal rods that attach on one end at the lower control arm and on the other end on the frame. If you tighten them down, you can effectively "lift" the front end a bit. For a full explanation, go here...

Hope this helps!

I had a feeling that it dealt with the front torsion bars. Good to know, thanks
