Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default 2000 ford expdt. won't start

Hi guys,

My 2000 Ford Expedition EB has 75K and now it won't start. When I turn the ignition all the gages will go to max and back down. The lights works, the dash will light up, but the radio will not come on, and the truck won't make a sound, when trying to start it. I tried to jump it, the same thing happens. I took the battery out to go get it tested, they told me that my battery is fine? I put the batt. back in, and still it won't say a word.
Any suggestions please???
Thanks

see if the theft light is flashing real fast if so try another key if you don't have one you will have to take it to a garage or dealer. Also you could try tapping the starter when cranking it

I noticied today when I tried to start it before reading this. The radio came on for a minute then when I tried to start it, the lights dimmed and the radio stayed off? Maybe it could be the battery? The Doof at Auto Zone that said my batt. was good..I noticed it took her less than a minute to test it? Now I am wondering if she knew what she was talking about?

I will try the the turn signal though..What does that mean if it does flash quickly?

not the turnsignal the theft light is flashing fast, means the system is disabled and will not start its not seeing the chip in the key.

I took the batt.. to another auto store and it's not the batt.. the anti theft light is not blinking fast, it flashes like every 1 second. Everytime I tried to start it, I had the door open and all the lights would cut off, then when I release the key they come back on???

make sure the battery connections are clean also check the grounds at the block. You may be the starter try to boost it and see if it starts, because if the lights, radio go out you are loosing batery connection or to much amps are being drawn.
