Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default Egr Valve

Hola.. yes i am new..and yes i tried the search feature!!

A little background.. I got this 00 expy new in 00 sold it to my bro-inlaw in 03 just flew up to NYC to get it saturday.. bro said check engine light was on ..so he took it to a shop in ny and they said it coded egr.. so the fella cleans the valve and the light goes out but comes back on in 2 days he takes it back... picks it up and light is off... kewl right!!

I take it to get state inspection today.. it coded egr again.. and check engine light does not work anymore...

QUESTIONS!!

could i try and get over by removing and cleaning all egr realted hoses, lines and hardware? I know that clogged hoses and lines will still code egr if egr is replaced and hoses are clogged or dirty..

or should my cheap ass just replace them?

.. so which online source do you suggest?

Thank You!!

What EGR code is it, insuffeicent flow? If it is insufficent flow remove the throttle body, there are EGR passages towards the base of the throttle body that often clog sometime so bad that there will be long balck "carbon sticks" or "EGR turds" coming out of them. I recommend cleaning all the holes and passages in the throttle body and the intake with a good throttle body cleaner and a small brass bottle brush. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes to and your good to go. If not insuficent flow e-mail me and I'll try to help out.
