2004 Ford Expedition Ignition Noise

Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

W6MD Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Posts: 1	2004 Ford Expedition Ignition Noise Installed Yaesu FT-100D Ham Radio Transceiver into my Expedition and immediately found the Ignition Noise was awful. Noise is most noticeable at rest. My installation consist of rear hatch antenna mount, is grounded to body. Stand alone Deep Cycle Battery located in rear compartment. I have contacted my local Ford Dealer in Orange, Ca. and have an appointment setup for tomorrow. This does not sound promising as the service department claims to have no experience with this kind of problem. Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 2004 Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4L Thank you, Chuck Davis w6md@arrl.net Update 2-2-2007 Ford Dealer could find no problems. Test consisted of hooking up to computer and running all test. No problems found.. Mechanic said it sounded like alternator whine.
