Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default Troubleshooting the remote keyless entry

I'd just purchased a 97 Eddie Bauer edition and we are having problems with the remote keyless entry. I have attempted to reprogram the fob by turning the ignition on and off five times and pressing buttons on the remote. For some reason there is still no response to the remote. Are there components in the vehicle such as a receiver that could be malfunctioning? Possibly a fuse that I could check? Any advice would be very helpful.

Brand new battery in FOB and still no response. Is it common for the FOBs or the reciever to go out? Does anyone know where the reciever is located in the vehicle?

Ok, When you turn on and off the key, after the fith time does it pop the locks, or is it not poping. I think you have to turn the key 5 times at a steady pace and then the locks pop. once they pop i believe you have 5 seconds to program the remote by jus locking the doors. thats all to it. Have the remote on one hand while you program it. That way you dont have to reach 2 the keys to get the remote before the 5 secon programing period.

Dre Mex......Thanks for the reply. I am getting the locks to pop but at that point when I pust the lock button on the FOB there is no response. There is a new battery in the FOB so I know that is not the problem. It has to be somthing in the vehicle or a bad FOB. Can anyone direct me to the reciever in the expedition?

Default Expedition keyless entry

I'd sure like to hear the answer to this one. My Expedition will not program any new fobs, though the 2 I have will re-program just fine.
