Ford ExpeditionTrue expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.
Ok, i got an '98 Ford Expy. I want to add a cold air intake, but the one i'm buying only has 1 sensor. the stock intake on the expy has 2. one near the air filter and one on the tube. the Intake that i am buying has the one on the tube. my question is, how important is it to have the second sensor (which happens to be bigger and in a metalic case), and what is this sensor for? will my truck fail in any way shape or form if i dont have it hooked up? well, im a newbe here so i will apreciate your guys help.
yes, it would. That is your (M)ass (A)ir (F)low sensor. It's job's is too provide the ecu with critical info about how fast air is being drawn in and it's density. The little one in the tube is you IAT intake air temp sensors. Find and application that includes the Maf. If not your car's fuel trim will be out of wack and your chk eng lgt will be on. These sensors are all eye's for the computer so it's knows how to present the fuel in the combustion chamber at differ conditions when you drive.
Thanks for the tip. I was tweaking with my expy last night, and found out a way to take the sensor off the filter box. I think i can put the sensor on the new intake even if the new intake doesnt have the sensor. If not, i'll find out a way to make it work. im pretty sure it fits tho. Thanks again.
