When it rains...

Okay, just finished the tranny cooler week before last. New upper and lower hoses, too. Those new plastic hose clamps are frustrating until I read about using a soldering iron to cut them loose. The new hoses went on with old fashioned Gates clamps, by golly.

Anyway, with the new thermostat and hoses, tranny cooler and belts, fuel filter, etc, I am off to the races.

Then, without warning, she won't hold an idle. 500rpm or less, unless I feather it. I am guessing the IAC, based on my trouble shooting guide. Remember me mentioning the gauges zeroing? Well, now they max out and reset. I'm wondering if the IAC is really the problem or maybe the battery. Guess I will change both. 99 with 105,000, they both probably need it. Your thoughts?

IAC was the culprit. $55 at NAPA.
