Ford Expedition True expeditions require additional transportation conveyances: horses, boats, cars, for example. With a towing capacity around 9,000 pounds, the Ford Expedition can tow any of these. Ford adds a new top end King Ranch model for 2008, as well as an available rear backup camera and power-retractable running boards. The Expedition is meant for utility, not posing.

Default ABS kicks in at slow speeds with wheel turned

I have a 2000 4X4 Explorer which is having ABS problems. No matter what the pavement is (dry, wet), the ABS activates at slow speeds with the steering wheel turned.

I replaced the rear sensor and the two up front, but the problem persists. Any ideas what I should try next?

Phil

I have this same problem. Unfortunately to date it has not been solved. Is your ABS light on? Mine is not.

How is the tread depyh on the tires? I have seen problems when a new tire or 2 is put on a vehicle with really worn tires.

I ended up taking the rear sensor out and cleaning it along with both front sensors. After cleaning the front ones and making sure the wires weren't getting pulled on, the problem went away.
