Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

The chrome on it is just a sticker. You cannot paint over it, to take it off the best way is lots and lots of sanding. I have never heard of the torch method, and I am guessing it would have problems since the grill is plastic.

Are you installing a billet grill?

Could try having the grill blasted with crushed walnut shells or baking powder.

Gents,

I am from Europe, I have bought my first explorer on this week. I would like to buy a bugdeflector, but I don't know which type should I choose.

Could you help me please? Which is the best quality, etc...

Cheers,

Bela

I repainted my center section on my grill, when i had it off i tried to peal it but it wouldnt come, all i can think of is sanding it. I would imagine if you heated it, it would warp the plastic making it useless....

to answer your question, its on how far down into your pocket you want to dig i guess. ive never used a bug deflector so i wouldnt know, but they are all made of plastic. Just do alittle bit of research. : and congrats on getting an ex!!
