Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

Default Affects of cold weather - Help

This is a real abnormality. When it is cold out (below 40) my windshield wipers and radio do not work. 20 minutes after driving, they start working. I have never had this problem before. It just strted getting cold 3 days ago and the problem has occured every morning. Any ideas????????? How could the two be related to the cold?

thanx
Tim

Default Stalls 1st time its starts

For the last month, every time (regardless of temperature and time of day), the Explorer will crank up and then shut off. The 2nd time I crank it will stay running. Sometimes the 2nd crank is a little hard but it always cranks up. IDEAS? I'm thinking either fuel filter or pump. I'm going to replace filter tonight. HELP??????

thanx
Tim

First post maybe a weak battery or alternator, just a guess.

Second post, yep try a fuel filter and air filter.

Yeah.. it is odd. Consider checking your battery connections, and the various grounds, the big fat ones, and the little ones too. There are usually a couple, one on each side of the radiator, one on each wheel well, and one or two on the firewall.
