Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

Question How Do I Disable Front Anti-Lock Brakes (96 Explorer XLT)
I have a 96 Explorer XLT V6 and the anti-lock brakes on the front are almost always screwing up and I just want to disable them... Isn't there a wire, fuse, switch or something that can be unplugged/turned off? Please help. I really need these things disabled.

You can pull the fuse under the hood, this will disable the entire ABS system however it is not recommended.

You probably have 1 bad wheel sensor, they are around $50 to $100 and are easy to replace usually.

Pull the 60 amp fuse in the battery junction box under the hood. The wire that goes into the 4WABS control module from the Brake ON Off switch is a ground when the brakes are not activated, and a power source when they are. Be sure to use original ford parts
