Ford ExplorerFord Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.
I think this is the place to post this not to sure but here it goes.
I have a 91 ford Explorer its manual and it overheated (pretty sure) on me one day going to practice before it shutdown on me it was making a clicking sound on every gear 1st to 5th and finally just turned off.I got it home and I realized that the radiator had no more water after being filled that same day(also had tons of rust so maybe that was it).I left it a couple of days before starting to work on it. I decided to take the radiator of a 1996 ford explorer (auto) and put it into the '91 everything was going good but after a minute or so the antifreeze started to leak from the exhaust.I have no idea whats wrong other than the fact that maybe the radiator would not be interchangeable.Anyone that has any idea please let me know.
Thanks

Oh boy... that's not good.
You might be lucky and have a blown head gasket, (which might be worth the cost of a repair) or unlucky and have a cracked block.

why would you put an automatic radiator into a manual vehicle?
If it was available and it fit, it wouldn't make a difference.

i dont think it is a blown head gasket cause there is no water bubbles when i check the oil but i would take that rather than the cracked block.also if it is a cracked block could i take that engine from the 96 and put in the 91 explorer and just keep everything else manual transmission and everything.

Is there a way to differenciate between the two with a compression test?
Can you put a '96 into a '91 without any hassel? That's a definite maybe. I don't know the details of what would be involved, but the computers are different, many sensors are changed, but many are the same. The 91 is OBD1 and the 96 is OBDII. IF you don't get an answer to that question here, then a friendly junkie may let you know. They should have a book/CD of what is interchangeable with what.
Go to his shop first thing in the morning with a dozen dunkin-donuts. Its amazing how that can be an ice breaker.
