Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

Default Ford Explorer 2004 - TPMS Issues

Hi, I have a Ford Explorer 2004 Eddie, on Starting the vehicle the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) light on dash board does not light up, also when running the Sys Diagnostics in Message Center I do not get any message for TPMS.

There are no messages for
Tire Pressure Monitor Fault or
Tire Pressure Sensor Fault.

I know for sure that TPMS is standard feature for 2004 Explorer Eddie bauer.

Can someone explain what does this mean and is this an expensive issue to resolve.

I can live without that and use a regular pressure gauge, however I feel like having all the features of my truck working.

Thanks,
newyorker

sitting in your driveway with the truck running let some air out of your tire, go pretty low so u no the light should come on and if it doesn't u might not have that option but if u know they came with it, it sounds like a trip to the dealer

However I am pretty much sure that it is a standard feature, also I have original owner's invoice and it is listed as std. features.

Thanks,

As per the manual
Fuse / Relay Location - 16
Fuse Amp Rating - 5A
Passanger Compartment Fuse Panel Discription - Power Mirror, Manual Climate Control, TPMS

So does this mean a Single fuse is controlling all 3 of those, as both Power Mirror and Manual Climate Control are working fine.

Also any tips on how to inspect fuses and what to look for in a blown fuse?

Thanks
