Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

Default 1991 Explorer Red Toggle Switch

Hello,

I am new to this board and a proud new owner of a 1991 Ford Explorer XL. She is not the prettiest on the inside and there is a Red Toggle Switch on the dash left of the steering wheel. I have no clue what this switch is or does. Can anyone help me with this.

Thanks,

Edward

Is this a toggle switch or a rocker switch? I seem to recall some rocker switches that were for fog lamp application on older cars, but if it is a toggle, then maybe an added antitheft system bypass switch, installed at delivery. Although, the bypass switch is usually hidden under the dash, so it is not easy to find and bypass.
