Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

Default How do I find a keyless entry code

A friend of mine just bought a USED 2005 Explorer and does not know the keyless entry code. I asked another friend of mine about it and he said it would be on a small sticker in a door or hatch jamb.....or on the computer.
I looked at the jambs and saw a sticker with mostly letters on it and could not figure out to convert them to numbers for the code so I don't think that was it. I looked at what I think was the computer near the front passenger kick panel and did not see anything obvious there either. It is supposed to be recorded on a card in the owners manual, but we could find no card. They bought the explorer from a Honda dealer and they have been no help. What a Surprise!! Any help would be appreciated!

I hope you have found the code by now if not I just found out where to look for the code "The door code is located in three places. 1-on the security code card in the owner's smanual packet, 2-In the internal memory of the module(accessed by a scan tool) and 3- If you remove the left trim cover on the left rear quarter trim panel in the cargo area, and shine a flashlight behind the panel in the direction of the seating area, you will see the module. There is a sticker on it with the 5 digit code on the module itself." (http://www.faqfarm.com/Q/How_do_you_..._Ford_Explorer)

Hope this helps good luck

You'll never find the code if you can't find the right forum...the Explorer forums are over on the other side of the building.

Silly Rabbit...You probably just took a wrong turn in Albuquerque...

The only place you will find the code is in the computer. the shop has to hook it up and give it to you. It cost me $50.

hey bob,

I found mine on the right rear door piller next to the back seat on the computer on my 2004 X. The dealer said they don't do that any more but I found a post from somebody who found it. Only tool you'll need is a compact mirror from your wife of girl friend's purse.

Good luck
