Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

Question 09 Ford Explorer
I just purchased an 09 Explorer, have one that is a 96 model.
love it, however this new Explorer has a 'design' flaw that the dealership
knew about and did not mention.

When I drive my SUV with the back windows down, there is a 'whirring' noise...like a helicopter flying overhead..it's annoying........ and I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this noise.

I was told that the design flaw was in the '99 up to current Explorers.

As much as I love my Explorer I don't think I would have bought this one with that design flaw....
