Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

03 explorer limited when im driving at any speed i hear it but more when im on the throtle?

I had the same problem. It went away after I started leaving my wife at home.

Seriously, have you checked the rear end?

Assuming it is rear wheel drive, check to see if there is excess play in the drive shaft. Try shifting it forward and back as well as trying to turn it while the car is in park, off and safely chocked.

Otherwise put the ole lady on a creeper, slide her under the car and take her for a ride around the neighborhood. She can listen for the noise as you go.
