Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

Cool 98 Exploror Sport Lift Questions?

Hi guys im Scott and im new to this forum. I have a few questions (im sure u guys have already answered before sorry to ask again), im in the process of lifting my 98 Explorer Sport V6 SOHC using the TT/aal with shackles.

Now Ive installed the aftermarket shackles already and it gave me about 1.5in of lift, now I have a mono leaf so im adding a single leaf out of an F150. My question is after I add the 1 leaf to the mono leaf will i need longer shocks or a rear shock extender of some kind. I dont want my shocks to bottom out (I have Monroe Sesatrac shocks all the way around). And will I need any sway bar extensions for rear? I have the same concern with the front regarding the shocks and the sway bars after the TT. Im only looking to go no more than 1.75 to 2in of lift all the way around depending how much lift I have after ive installed the leaf in the rear. Im new to lifting, this is the first one ive ever done. I want to make sure I do everything im suppose to do without causing damage to my truck. Ive read alot of posts on some of this but there's so much on here it takes a while to read it all.

you guys seem to know it all from what ive read on here any help will be appreciated...Thanks in advance
