Ford Explorer Ford Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.

Default 2000 explorer

Hey everyone I just picked up my 2000 4x4 today. I noticed on the other explorers i tested that I could have my fog light one with my parking lights..but for some reason, they only come one with the headlights on this one.....is there something i can do to change this?

also the driver seat is really worn...just the bottom cushion...anyone have one for sale in tan cloth.

Thank you, i did not see anything in search.

The fog lights would come on by way of power to the trigger side of the relay that powers them.
IF you can locate the trigger wire to the relay, (that is going to the low beam side of the headlight) and disconnect that, and then reconnect a trigger wire to the parking lights, that would turn them on whenever ANY of your lights are on. Depending upon the state you are in, that may be illegal. For example in NJ, fog lights must turn off when the highbeams are on.

i am not running high beams that often, so i doubt i would get caught. I just love the look of running parking lights and fogs..near dusk.

Due to the many years of asian design influence most US fog light systems cannot be made useful. Only the europeans marques have remained with the tradiational fog light control system.

Most states REQUIRE that the main beams ALWAYS be used during the hours 30 minutes after sunset until thirty minutes before sunrise. Making the use of fog lights highly detrimental to the driver's night distance vision and useful only for BLING during these hours.

These days when I first buy a new vehicle one of the first mods I do is enable the fog lights so that can be used purposely, either daytime foggy conditions, poor lighting conditions as dusk or dawn approaches.

I run the fogs and parking lights on every vehicle i have owned, so I know the cops dont really care here. So it looks like i need to connect the fogs through the parking lights. thank you.
