Ford ExplorerFord Explorer is a midsize SUV with body-on-frame construction. Available with V6 or V8 power, the Explorer competes against the TrailBlazer, Grand Cherokee, 4Runner, and Pathfinder. Explorer was completely redesigned in 2006 and we were pleased with the new steering, new suspension, and new brakes, all of which were vastly improved over the previous-generation.
hey i have a 96 explorer limited AWD
i changed all the fluids today (rear diff, transfer case and oil) and added some tranny fluid beecaues it was leaking
the place where its leaking is just behind the oil pan and infront of the transfer case it was leaking from a black plug which i pullled out (it is some short of black gromit) the plug was cut up on the sides so i went and got a replacement for it( wasnt exactly the same but was similar thought it would work) and after i refilled it i drove it out of my garage and there was a huge puddle again on my drive way
anyone know what the plug is called? no one seems to know what it is, and what is the plug on? i know its not the tranny case because theh tranny case is right behind where the plug is
thanks guys,
chris
