Ford F - Series The Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.

Default been a busy past few days.....

where do I start....

The engine is in the truck , took some time to get the manifolds on and lined up properly. These are the originals and they are only on very temporarily, I saw a high performance intake manifold on summit racing and some headers, $250.00 each.... I'm getting them one way or another(should have a tax refund cheque coming soon) .

in the mean time , these will make the engine run, they are shot though , had a bitch of a time gettin them on they are a little warped out of shape from the heat theyv'e endured over the years.

I bolted on the old carb for now too I guess I'll have to get a 4barrel when I get the new manifold.

in the meantime the engine is in and It runs.

here's the good part..... I have about 4 feet of the old pipe on it and no muffler. I found by the way that I had a BRAND NEW muffler it was just really dirty it was covered with a clay like substance that had baked itself into ceramic . anyway I'm getting this 'cherry bomb' muffler from the local auto parts store.

but this thing is loud and she just screams.

she doesn't have a real snappy throtle response so she won't do a good smoke show, plus my tranny bogs it down(gotta source out a 4 speed, think I know where to get one.) and the rear bearings need changing as they are complaining, brakes need to be done yet...
in the meantime the truck is drivable,

how ever I'm not showing any oil pressure even though I have a brand new pump, I took a test light and It showed a very faint light then none at all.
I will get a new oil pressure sending unit , one that comes with a gauge that mounts to the dash , I saw them at the auto parts store.

hope fully thats all it is , I checked in the rocker cover through the oil fill cap and saw oil.......

need a battery Doh!

check the pics thats all I can think of for now..

Default just a few more thoughts....

#1, this project is far from done
#2 I hope I taught my boys something. not only how to work on an engine or a truck but how to work, period. don't put something back together dirty or rusty, clean it up , buy new bolts, chase the threads if need be.....
#3 I just blew the ears off of these southern saskatchawan people and they can now begin to live in fear of the noise coming from my truck.
lesson learned here....... don't get on my bad side..... cause I'll open up the pipes and blast ya one!

ok ok I'm joking ...but this baby's loud ! you can hear the compression in this thing.... I lose a couple of restrictions and I burn rubber....

prepare yourselves
rubber is soon to burn....

well.....

I just spent $950.00 that I don't have.....

but soon I'll have a brand new holly 4 bbl carb,

a set of pace setter headers,

ofy intake manifold and all the gaskets and studs I'll need

ordered it all from summit racing.com over the 1-800 #

headers are temporarily out of stock but will be in stock in 2 weeks.

can't wait.

it appeares my 1 bbl carb is cracked and leaking gas and I know my intake is cracked the headers were a given.

I bought and installed a glass pack 'cherry bomb' I like that so far so I will buy one more , cause I'll have dual exhaust, and we will see if she lays rubber....

also gotta get this manual tranny from the guy down the street who just has his truck parked because of the clutch....

lots more plans and upgrades to come so stay tuned....
your pal
Dave

Its good and its bad Dave.

It can be really rough spending money you don't have. However your gonna get alot of bang for your buck there. Can't wait to see more pictures of it!

You may consider Flowtech for a header, I have a set of their headers on my Firebird, and while they are cheap they are pretty nice. Summit may even have one from them on the shelf.

I'm sure she'll lay rubber, but if that's not enough, don't forget about nitrous, the joker and one-eyed Jack of the po' boy racers.
