ok I've pulled my steering column out because there was a "sticky" spot in the steering, I know its not the gearbox or the pump because I detatched the shaft inside the cab to seperate it from the outside thru the firewall and it was still getting stuck. I had just replaced the power steering pump thinking it was the problem. the pump was burnt up but the problem is still there. anyway in the same area as the turn signal there is a spring that has the shaft running thru it and it sems this is the "hang-up" any ideas or help would be great. I dont know if I need to get a junk yard column or if it can be fixed, the truck has an airbag which brings me to my next question... by unhooking the airbag once the column was out will it be ok to just plug it back in and re-install the column?
