Do yourself a favor and read this before buying one, or letting a friend buy one. www.prairielinks.com/FordReview.html

| | Guest | Dwayne,
I went to your web page and read about your dissatisfaction. And actually, everything you listed are good reasons for not buying a Ford F-150. Because those are your opinions, I won't argue that point. But they are very poor reasons for being unhappy after the purchase, and I do take exception.
Nearly everything you listed about your truck with which you are dissastified are items that were that way when you actually purchased the truck and could've easily been noticed during a test drive of 15 minutes on any road available. These issues were, and still are inherent to F-150s. In other words, they are things that make a Ford, a Ford. I mean, did you think that the legroom would get better over time, or that the bed sides would get lower so you could reach in easier, or that the non-spring loaded tilt would suddenly start springing, etc., etc.? And you know what? Next year, these things will be the same way they are today. The door arm rests will still be big. I can understand if the ground clearance issue snuck up on you, but if I lived in an area where I had to blaze a trail every season, I'd have a little pocket ruler with me, measuring those pumpkins. And just how do you expect Ford customer service to correct your problems? Refund your money because you made failed to look over a perfectly good truck to see if it matched you and the job you had for it? Or get them to make you shorter? Or get them to make it not snow in Manitoba? Possibly Ford has some way to change the laws of physics that they haven't told us about.
Sounds to me like you should have never bought this truck in the first place, you made a bad choice and you want to blame and flame the manufacturer for your mistake.
Consider it done. I'm never buying another Ford. They keep puttting those dang Ford emblems all over them.

| | Guest | and they DO make both the extra-cab and super-cab version with the 8ft bed, and have since '99.
still don't know what the yank about the window ledge is, that's where I rest my arm, and I'm under 6' tall...
ice and snow build up on ANY wheel; Ford didn't get up one moring and go, "...let's redesign these wheels and piss this guy off..."
Al Sleet, The Hippy Dippy Weatherman, "...with all your hippy, dippy, weather, man..." used to say, "...if you don't like the weather, MOVE."
I knew a Honda factory rep. that used the catchphrase, "...when do YOU want to own this car? American Honda is DONE owning it."
And I think that fits, in this case.
I'd say your best bet, is to trade it in on a Dodge with that gutless 5.9 Cummins.

| | Guest | I can’t figure out why anyone would have such a negative view and attitude about the new Ford F150. I’m not even going to try to figure it out.
Most of the features that were complained about are almost types of things that a person could walk around a vehicle on a lot and find that one could decide they didn’t like.
It seems as though most people would discover most of these dislike by test-driving a new truck.
The bottom line is that everybody has an opinion but I can’t understand why anyone would go to such extremes to influence others with this BS.
Having said that, there are few things that I would have liked to see different about the 2004 F150. None of the things that I find undesirable about the new style would compel me to go to such extreme.
I have had my 2004 F150 for about 16 months and 18,000 miles now and still consider it a very nice truck overall.
All of this of coarse is only MHO.

| | Guest | Igotta agree with most of the replys here ... why go to such an effort to cover your own obvious mistake ... you seem to have known what you wanted in a truck ... and you didn't check details. I am in the process of buying a '05 F150 and i live in the country where the are a lot of dirt roads and we get a lot of snow in the winter here too ... but if i had so many concerns before purchasing as you have i would have done some more homework. For the record i am Canadian and we are all not whiners...."eehhh" | |

| dude......number one....take a test drive...number 2 if you have the need for three people or a kid in the front, buy a super crew!!!!! number three....I have owned a dodge in the past as have friends...these are the cheapest made most unreliable trucks on the road...I can tell you this as I have several friends that are "higher ups" at diamler chrysler ....I am now on my second super crew an '06 Lariat....which is more like a Lincoln towne car inside than a truck....the ride is great....seats are very comfortable and I'm almost 6'3" and just under 280...there is plenty of room in this thing...even with the center counsel shift!!!! |

| I agree with everyone else. Do you really think your impressions will sway people away from the F-150. It seems like that's what you are trying to do by linking everyone to your website.
Next do yourself (and everyone) a favor, and TEST DRIVE the vehicle before purchasing. |

| could anyone imagine if this guy bought a superduty?!? This is the problem with the world today... people like this ruining perferctly good TRUCKS. Manufacturers hearing from potential customers, "it rides too rough," "it doesn't turn well," and (my favorite) "why doesn"t it ride and drive like my car?" Gee, maybe because it's a TRUCK? If you want a car buy one. If you want a truck, you should know its going to be rough, turn wide, and be just plain unbearable in the mall's parking lot. There is a reason the Ford F-150 is the Best selling vehicle in America. Because it is the best dang truck on the planet!!! There's my 2 cents. (do I get change?) |
