Anyways, back to the problem at hand. I've got a '94 F-250 XL 4x4 reg cab, 5.8, 5sp w/od blah blah. 83K miles. I has developed a horrible sounding grating/groaning noise when I take off and after releasing clutch from a shift. Also on rough roads and off-road. Doesnt do it in reverse. It's really really loud. Enough that people walking on the sidealk turn and look. I'm knowledgeable enough to have a pretty good idea on what to look for, however I'm lost lookin at the TTB stuff. My first idea was a thrashed motor mount, but after looking, the motor mounts are fine. Checked out the spring bushings as well. Those check out fine. Ball joints, tierod/drag link ends are fine. The tranny mount also looks fine. Then looked at the bushings that the TTB setup pivots on. They look pretty hammered to me. Would these bushings being worn cause the noises I describe? Is this a "known" issue? What kinda time/money am I lookin at to replace these? Doing it myself of course. If I'm totally off base in what I've come up with so far....can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm trying to sell the truck...Having this damn godawful noise from the front end makes that almost impossible. :eek
