99 F150 Turns Over but Won't Start?! HELP!!

I have a 1999 F150 (only had it about 6 months now) that recently has begun stalling upon starting.

When this happens, you can turn it over, power comes on, you can rev, etc. but upon letting off the gas or switching into gear, it DIES.

This will happen anywhere from 5-20 times (turning over, power coming on, revving gas, etc. without "starting"), then finally it'll catch, start, and be fine for however long the drive is.

It doesn't stall when driving...only when starting initially.

Please help...any and all suggestions would be great!
I have to use this truck to haul a horse trailer, and being stranded somewhere is a scary thought!! The local dealer can't fit me in until Monday.
My husband is handy, but is unfamiliar with Ford...perhaps you can provide some insight as to where he should begin??

I would try a spray can of carb and throttle body cleaner. Remove the air cleacer and spray into the throttle area and wipe it out right away. It has helped me in the past when I had a similar problem.Good luck

iac valve sounds like its sticking(located on the back side of the upper intake).They make intake cleaner that you spray down the throttle body that may free up the valvejust follow the directions on the can.

IAC - Idle Air Control valve. My old Toyota had the same symptoms. Shop Replaced IAC after checking it first and fixed me right up.
