Ford F - Series The Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.

Default Cummins swap on a f250-f350

Anyone do this? Will I have to fabricate new engine/transmission mount bolts? Or would this be a fairly easy bolt up procedure? I think Fords have the best look and interior. I just love the cummins engine.

I think your gonna have to do some welding and cutting, but I'm sure you can do it.

Well I'm a little afraid of welding, heard you can go blind using those things! How much could I expect to pay for a welder's services? And what other qualities should this welder have cause I know it needs to be perfect for the application to work.

If you wear the proper protection and don't weld everyday all day you should be fine. Most people who weld for a living should be capable of building you engine mounts, just as long you keep you part of the deal and design the parts properly. Find someone who will listen to how you wants your parts made, and so some research so you can tell him if you want a part brazed, MIG welded, Stick welded, fusioned, or spot welded together. Also if they have somewhat of a machine shop you can usually get better made parts, as the parts will be cut on milling machines, bandsaws, or plasma CAM machines.

Good advice man. What do you think is the best weld when installing new engine mounts? I'm guessing the engine mounts on a powerstroke/cummins are different.
