Ford F - Series The Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.

Question brake problems

Have replaced all brake parts front and back on 1998 f150 and am experiencing
chattering on front brakes whenever they are applied, at any and all speeds.
Any ideas?

Perhaps your ABS sensor is acting up. Possibly a bent hub? Also might be your ball joints/bearings

Just a few ideas. I've got the same chattering you talk about, drives me crazy, it's just I need to replace the pads/rotors. I sure hope that takes care of it I feel your pain, hopefully you can get it figured out quick.

Default Thinking of a few other things...

There are other things to check, such as tie rods, alignment, and wheel balance. Jack the vehicle up one wheel at a time, and see if you could wiggle the wheel. It should be firm. If not, then inspect all of the front end parts for wear. Rubber bushings dry out after a period of time, and start to crack. You usually hear popping noises when this starts to happen.

Also, does it pull to one side or another when you apply the brakes?
