Ford F - Series The Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.

Default Cats??

I've got a 2006 F150 with no muffler and its on a Y-pipe with duals and 5 inch tips. I want to make my truck louder and a friend of mine told me that cats are the only way to go. But I've heard abunch of different horror stories about how a person's truck breaks down 5 months later or their truck won't even start back up. So does anybody got any advice on getting the cats cut off?

I have an 01 F250 SD with a V10 and 98,000 miles on it. I pulled the factory cat, which by that time weighed about 40# from all the exhaust junk it collected over the years. I then put on a Magnaflow cat. Now instead of sounding like a Jap race bike or a loud V6 (like most V10s), it has more of a V8 rumble. One piece of advice: If your cat has sensors in it, and you replace it with aftermarket, you will probably have to reset your "check engine" codes every 2000 miles or so. My sensors are in the y-pipe so I had no worries. Gas mileage improved about 7%, BTW.
As always, YMMV.
