Ford F - SeriesThe Ford F-Series lineup offers a plethora of models for every occasion or occupation, starting below $20,000 and climbing beyond double that. The F-Series line offers something on the order of 75 permutations, more than some car companies' entire lineups. All are capable of work or play, even those models with luxurious interiors, and all have four doors.
I have an 07' f-450 2 wheel drive with a list of problems. Today the ABS light started to flash and the speedo would stop working. The ABS light seems to flash when I hit a bump in the road. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I no longer have a FORD dealer here in Elk Grove CA, as they just closed, not to mention the dealer in FOLSOM CA refuses to work on my problem truck anymore, so that leaves me here for advice. I am thinking there might be a loose plug or sensor, but the speedo throws me off. Does the ABS control the speed sense?
im not positive, but most likely it's a loose wire or wire harness, even if the abs and the speedo have nothin to do with each other, the wires may run through the same place, so it that is loose it can cause both to screw up. take a look at all the wires and bundles and just make sure they are secure.
Sorry that this is the first that I saw of your post.
It used to be that the Vehicle Speed Sensor VSS and the RABS rear Antilock BRake Sensor were two different components, but in 1992 on the full size broncos they changed to using the RABS to serve dual purpose as the VSS also. It is located on the top of the pumpkin of the rear differential. I just replaced mine on my '99 ford motor home. The part is only about $20 and very simple to replace. Just one bolt.
For your problem in particular, it could be a loose connection, or a bad ground.
The ABS annd the Speedo use the same Speed Sensor Unit, and since it is effected when the wheels go over a bump then it is a problem with your Speed Sensing Unit, replace it and it should work fine. I don't understand how last years model is not still under warranty, and if it has the list of problems you say, then it must have come from the factory like that. And, there is a thing called a "Lemon Law", your truck should have been replaced and at the very least worked on until the problems were solved. I don't care where the Dealer is located, they represent Ford and they are responsible to fix that shit, by law. Let me know how this turns out.
