My 2002 F150 regular idle at 7500 now idle at 15000 and above. Checked vacum for leaks and idle control sensor. Before this problem check engine light was on for about 150,000 miles. While trying to fix, codes were reset and since no codes have been generated, and check engine light has not come back on. I now have about 198,000 miles. Let me know if any others have run into this and how to solve.
High idles are most often vacuum leaks, and the IAC. Did you just clean the IAC, or did you replace it?
Other causes... could be low coolent level
faulty temp sensor
I think could be, but I am not quite sure...
air infiltration after MAF
dirty MAF
